A Dream Journey To Organic Farming

I am a Software Engineer graduated from MNREC, Allahabad having working experience of about 15 years in the software developments.

Of Late I planned to do something different for my Retirement Life. After Googling a lot, the search ended up setting up a Beautiful Farm with lots of Fruit trees and Fresh Organic Vegetables. The Challange was to get a good piece of land, the cost involved etc.

About 8 months i started meeting various brokers in and around TN to fetch a Land without any legal problems. With lots of Struggle , finally i was able to achieve my 1st target of fetching a land. The land was registered successfully in 2009. That piece of land was a Forest and was barren without any accessories like water , electricity etc.

Barren Land :

Now for some new Challenges.

  1. This land was used by the nearby villagers for playing cricket, as a shortcut route for busstop, etc.
  2. Electricity for the land.
  3. Water source for the land.

Firstly i decided to put a wire barbed fence around the land.  So Lengthy Stones and wires has to purchased. (Extra Cost), Stones were arranged from Krishnagiri (Delivery only at Night 2.00 AM). Wires has to come from Bangalore. Hired some labourers to put a Fence around (Took a Week to Do the Fencing).

Fencing:

A Person was called from Hosur to identify the water source. I was lucky to find some water spot. But unfortunatily it was below the boulders hidden inside the soil. It was the second challenge , i have to hire a JCB to pull out all the boulders from that spot. I never imagined, the boulders could be so Big.

Boulders:

Bore :

Once the Bore was in Place i was lucky to get the water from 50 Ft. The bore was done till 650 Ft . Contineous flow of 1.5 Inch water was obtained. This was sufficient to water the piece of Land.

Now it was time to go for the electricity. It was really very difficult to get the agriculture connections, since no poles were near my land. I have to pay for the poles also to get the current to my land. All the wires, labour cost was put on me. Finally the Connection was established.

Power:

After all these challenges, My Farm was ready to Go Green.
